The company condemned the prevalent illegal actions of its users and promises a permanent ban for violators.
Shrapnel has transformed its gameplay after discovering some illegal strategies employed by players. Shrapnel is a Blockchain-based extraction shooter game. The company issued a stern warning to its users against the use of two illegal tactics on the gameplay. These tactics were used by players to gain an unfair advantage on the Shrapnel STX leaderboard.
Players in Shrapnel were caught engaging in two illegal strategies which are teaming and account sharing in a bid to advance the leaderboard. The Web3 gamers were found teaming up and coordinating queues to target other players. This had a significant effect on solo players. In addition, users were caught accessing the same player account from multiple devices. This act displays an unfair advantage through teamwork.
Furthermore, the company shared in a statement saying: “This includes but is not limited to sharing login credentials. there is also giving access to in-game characters, items or progress to others, or using another person’s account.”
The Downfall of Violators
Shrapnel has assured its users of its systems set in place to discover the aforementioned illegalities. The team has also emphasized that any player found to be violating the Terms of Use will be removed from the current STX leaderboard. Such player would also be considered for a permanent ban. This measures put in place by the company demonstrates its commitment to maintaining a fair gameplay experience.
The company further encouraged players to report any case of abuse as the game prepares for a full launch. The team explained saying: “It’s essential that we identify all issues before the game transitions to fully live status, especially as players begin extracting with NFTs and other digital assets.”
Shrapnel also cleared the air regarding players engaging in team matches. The team plans to remove only those users found unfairly coordinating to ascend the leaderboard.
